Cacerola Girl

#CacerolaGirl is a short documentary film about a young Puerto Rican woman who becomes a social media phenomenon in Puerto Rico by confronting the police with her cacerola, in the midst of the summer 2019 uprising against the then governor of Puerto Rico who finally resign. The story, told in chronicle form, is a celebratory look at the strength and power of an ordinary human being when connected to the collective indignation of a humiliated and hurt people. It is a humanized portrait of a street-level superheroine.
